Mr-Glass Construction in Chino, CA | Elmwood Contractors

We’re an independent Mr-Glass service team working across Chino’s two housing stocks, and if there’s one thing that separates how we do this work, it’s this: we template to the wall, not to a catalog size. Chino’s older 91710 tracts were framed decades before modern shower-glass tolerances, and the 91708 growth area sits on converted dairy land that moves. Both conditions break stock enclosures. We fix that with on-site measurement, OEM-compatible hardware, and glass cut to the actual opening. Call (866) 253-8554 for a free estimate.

Elmwood Contractors handles Mr-Glass frameless sliders, semi-frameless pivots, tempered panels, and vanity mirror sets across Chino, 91708 and 91710. We’re not manufacturer-affiliated or authorized. What we are is a construction team that has installed hundreds of glass enclosures in this city’s postwar stucco tracts and brand-new subdivisions, and we speak Mr-Glass fluently. Mr-Glass sales & service runs through us as an independent provider, and we source OEM hardware wherever a system is still in production.

Why Chino Residents Choose Us for Mr-Glass Service

Most glass installers in the Inland Empire, including those offering Mr-Glass repair in Ontario, are not framing contractors. We are. That distinction matters when a Mr-Glass enclosure is being set into a wall that’s out of square by half an inch or more, which is exactly what we see across Chino’s 1960s to 1980s tract stock in 91710. Nolan Shepherd, who owns Elmwood Contractors, grew up in Fullerton’s Sunny Hills neighborhood watching which late-’60s houses were going to develop foundation problems. He’s spent two decades since running work that starts with framing and ends with glass, so when a shower door binds at the strike side, we look at the wall before we blame the hardware.

We name the parts before the contract is signed. Rollers, hinges, seals, handles. OEM where the model is current, dimension-matched aftermarket where it’s discontinued. No mystery hardware. No “whatever the supplier sends.”

And we work both sides of Chino. The aging tracts near the 91710 corridor where bathrooms are small, walls are crooked, and tile work has seen forty summers. The new 91708 subdivisions near the 71 where slabs are young and still settling. Each side needs a different sequencing and a different templating approach, and we’ve done enough of both to know which is which before we show up.

Common Mr-Glass Construction Problems We Solve in Chino

  • Frameless slider rollers wearing out on hard-water glass. Chino’s water runs hard, and hard water loads up the bottom track on frameless Mr-Glass sliders. Rollers and bottom guides wear, the door drops out of track, and the glass starts dragging, then chipping at the edges. We replace rollers and guides with OEM-style hardware and reset the door before the chipped edge becomes a cracked panel.
  • Factory silicone and seals shrinking after Inland Empire summers. Semi-frameless Mr-Glass units come from the factory with silicone and seals that don’t hold up to repeated triple-digit heat cycles. Once they shrink, water migrates behind the tile and onto the curb framing. In Chino we see this constantly on south- and west-facing baths in 91710 homes. We strip the failed seals, reset with higher-temperature sealant, and replace curb gaskets before water damage gets into framing.
  • Tempered panels that don’t square to out-of-plumb walls. Ordering a stock Mr-Glass panel for a 1970s tract bath is a coin flip. The walls in 91710 Chino homes are rarely plumb or square to modern tolerances, so the panel leaves a gap at the strike side and leaks. We template on-site instead, which is the only way to get the door to close square on these older homes.
  • Mirror mastic degrading in high-heat, low-humidity rooms. Vanity mirrors in Chino bathrooms live in the same dry heat that shrinks seals. Mastic gives way, backing degrades, and you get spotting and edge desilvering. We replace the mirror, prep the surface properly, and mount with a mastic rated for Southern California interior heat swings.
  • New-build glass sequenced too early on settling fill. In the 91708 subdivisions on former dairy land, we’ve seen builders install shower glass right after drywall, then the slab settles and the enclosure binds. The right sequencing: wait for the builder’s compaction and drywall phases to settle, then template and set the glass. It saves a rebuild.

Mr-Glass Service in Chino: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Equipment

Chino is a dual-market city. The 91710 side is established stucco tract housing from the 1960s through the 1980s, framed before laser templating existed. Walls in those bathrooms are out of plumb and out of square by a half inch or more on a regular basis. Any Mr-Glass enclosure going into that stock needs on-site templating, not a warehouse order. The 91708 side, around the Chino Valley growth area near the 71, is different. Those homes sit on former dairy and agricultural land converted to master-planned subdivisions. The engineered fill consolidates. Slabs settle. Shower glass that gets installed too early in that cycle ends up binding at the hinges or pulling away from the threshold. In both housing stocks, the failure is not the Mr-Glass product. It’s the assumption that a stock enclosure will fit a wall that was never square, or a slab that hasn’t finished moving. We sequence and template accordingly.

Mr-Glass Models & Products We Service in Chino

We service the full Mr-Glass residential line, as we do for Mr-Glass in Montclair: frameless sliding shower door systems, semi-frameless pivot shower doors, custom tempered glass panels and mirror sets for vanities, and bi-fold and neo-angle shower enclosures. On current-production models, we source OEM Mr-Glass hardware including rollers, hinges, seals, and handles. On discontinued units, we use dimension-matched quality aftermarket tempered glass and hardware that we’ve field-tested across Inland Empire conditions. We keep common rollers, guides, seals, and handles stocked locally so turnaround on a Chino repair doesn’t wait on a coastal supplier. If the frame and glass are sound, we repair. If the glass is chipped at pivot points or the unit is out of square with the wall, we’ll recommend replacement rather than chasing leaks on a system that’s already fought the building once.
